The
SPW Webwork
business began
with a vision that did become a reality. Stu Walder retired in
2001 from his work as a Web Designer for a major corporation in Silicon
Valley, California He moved to North Texas to be near his oldest
daughter who lived in Bowie. His new avocation became woodworking, and he
built a 'New Yankee Workshop' to satisfy his love of exotic woods in the
creation of furniture and crafts. Computers were now used for game
playing, sending E-mails, joining various forums and generally used for
entertainment, not business. Life was good. |
 |
|
A friend
and parishioner of his church asked him about the process of building a
personal website that was affordable and had original content, not a
cookie-cutter. Then, someone else's vision became a reality. The website
was created. |
|
Soon the
word spread and retirement slowly but surely graduated to ex-retirement.
A small Bowie, Texas cottage industry was born. That website's business grew rapidly, mostly by word-of-mouth and a small
$50.00/month ad in our weekly shopper.
As our reputation grew, so did our need to learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Websites are designed for the purpose of bringing your dreams and visions to a larger audience. The Internet is the obvious vehicle for that goal. Our web development experience was limited to a
corporate intranet that existed inside of a firewall. Search Engines were built by ourselves just for the purpose of searching our internal pages which numbered in the hundreds. Google, Yahoo, Alta
Vista, etc. were there for our personal, not business use. The need to expand our knowledge base to include Search Engine Optimization was obvious.
Now we're designing websites that need a worldwide presence. How can we successfully accomplish that goal? |
Look at sites with
high Page Ranking (PR).
Study their design techniques.
Study the Titles, Descriptions and Keywords used in their source code.
Look at sites with low PR.
Compare differences. |
|
Our quest
to learn Search Engine Optimization techniques began this way. We offer affordable, creative, original cutting edge web development for small business, church, school and
personal websites.
Our
SEO-Marketing
page goes into greater detail on this subject.
Summing it all up, we arrived at a mission to give you an attractive and
well developed cutting edge website that will attract new visitors and enlarge your visibility in a world-wide venue. Your vision is unique. Your website should reflect
that quality.
Sincerely,
|
